Critical & Creative thinking
Critical and creative thinking has always been a part of my creative process, and whenever I conceive of a piece of work I look at all aspects of it and create it. These works often represent my views on myself and my stance on the phenomena that exist in our society. In my work I think that my first video works show the process of critical thinking to a certain extent. In my photographic works about Light & Shadow I have fully utilized my creative thinking.
In my first video work I presented the impact of human desire-greed on ourselves, how we tend to lose sight of the things we have lost, or the things we have lost, when we have gained something from a windfall. When our eyes are filled with desire, we become irrational and deeply involved. And when we actually lose something that is important to us, we will blame everything that goes wrong on what we have gained through the drive of desire. Which is often ironic. When I was working on this video, I was working through an object to express the temptations we encounter in our lives. When we begin to ignore the warnings, the devil’s encroachment will quietly consume us. For this work I also wanted to reflect on the temptations we face in our society nowadays, the good and the bad that we need to recognize.
In my Light & Shadow photographs, I have used a different approach to present my work to you. I think that the things that we see and surround ourselves with all the time are often overlooked, they don’t have a big impact on us, but they are always around us. And I’ve been able to show these things in a different light and in a way that we don’t often see them. The idea came to me because I am a myopic as well as an astigmatic person, a problem that will be with me for the rest of my life, unsurprisingly. But it’s not a problem for everyone. I want to show the world as I see it in my own way. I think this is called Creative Thinking.
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
